Nelson starts new rep company
Published on February 25th, 2008 ∙ Posted by Minnie

Veteran entertainment transactional attorney Peter Nelson, who has negotiated landmark deals including Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and David Duchovny’s “X-Files” deal, has left the firm he founded in 1986 with Patty Felker and formed a new one with longtime law partner George Davis.

The Los Angeles-based Nelson Davis firm will continue repping writers, directors and actors. Joining the two attorneys will be Mark Wetzstein, who comes from Nelson’s former firm as well. Nelson brings with him key clients, including Jackson and Duchovny.

Davis’ clients include writer Julian Fellowes, director Tom Vaughan and actor Ed Westwick. Wetzstein’s clients include actor Ian McShane and “Jericho” creator Jonathan Steinberg.

Published on February 19th, 2008 ∙ Posted by Minnie

OK, I really want to keep the forums and change the layout / theme of it. BUT I will like to know if you will like the forums to stay?! If so, will you interact? There’s not much interaction … so hopefully if the forums stay and get an “upgrade”, they’ll be lots more interaction! The poll is on the side and below:

Thanks to everyone who voted on the last poll!! All votes have been taken in and within the next few weeks I’ll be working on the “myspace” section so expect tons of Myspace goodies ;) Thanks for voting!

Also, we have a new staff member! Her name is Lauren and she will be helping with the updates! Also, comments have been removed due to the nasty spammers … ugh! That’s all for now … welcome again, Lauren!

The CW has firmed up its post-strike schedule.
As for “Game” and “Gossip Girl,” the return of those shows — March 23 and April 21, respectively — will mark the first new episodes to air following the writers strike; both shows are out of originals.

US TV stars warm to Bondi’s nosh icon
Published on February 17th, 2008 ∙ Posted by Minnie

THERE’S no denying the US writer’s strike has been bad for business but there were no complaints from the line-up of actors who spent part of their downtime dining at one of Sydney’s best nosheries this week.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles stars Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, Cold Case babe Kathryn Morris and Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles were among the throng snapped at Bondi Icebergs earlier this week.

Channel 9 exec Michael Healy, Ten bigwig David Mott and Foxtel’s Les Sampson also made their way to the iconic beachfront venue to meet the stars of their shows.

A bunch of journos from France, the UK, Argentina, Malaysia, the Philippines and Mexico also took up the Warner Bros junket.
