The wait is nearly over. It’s been more than three months since we last made a visit to the Upper East Side to hang out with the Gossip Girl gang, but on Monday at 8pm the series finally returns with the first of five new episodes. When we last saw the Gossip crowd, Blair had been ousted from her Queen Bee position by sweet little Jenny Humphrey. Serena (Blake Lively) managed to talk her out of fleeing New York City, but can Blair possibly claw her way back to the top now that everyone knows she slept with Chuck?

We’ll find out when “The Blair Bitch Project” airs next week on the CW. To get fans ready for the return of the series, we have some exciting promo photos and two scandalous clips from the episode.

The CW’s official description of the brilliantly titled episode reads, “Having been recently dethroned as Queen Bee in the last episode by Gossip Girl, with an assist from scheming “little J” (Taylor Momsen), Blair hesitantly returns to school with the support of her BFF, Serena. Meanwhile, Serena struggles to adjust to her new living arrangements with her future step-brother, Chuck (Ed Westwick), while receiving disturbing packages from an unknown sender. Jenny’s drive to be popular hits an all-new time high when she does something illegal to fit in with her new Upper East Side friends.”

The first photo shows Blair (Leighton Meester) touching her hair while a crowd laughs behind her. My guess is that somebody just poured something on her head. It looks like going back to Constance Billiard won’t be as easy as B thought, though at least she has S by her side.

While the CW has yet to turn Gossip Girl into a massive ratings hit, they’re certainly good at creating buzz for the show. The series returns to finish off its first season on Monday, April 21 at 8pm, with the first of five new episodes. Considering that the show has been off the air for months due to the writers’ strike, you might think that it’d have a tough time gaining attention upon its return. However, those crafty marketing execs at the CW have made sure that you’ll pay attention to the return of the series by stirring up a little controversy. The network recently launched a scandalous ad campaign that can be summed up in four little letters: OMFG.

There are two sexy new posters promoting the return of the teen soap, both of which will be seen all around the country within the coming weeks. The thing that makes these posters a bit controversial is the fact that they show couples from the series in erotic poses, along with the letters “OMFG.” For those of you who aren’t well-versed in Internet speak, OMFG stands for “oh my (expletive) God.” There are also a couple of new commercials for the series that are heavy on the sex and the OMFG angle.

It’s not hard to see why this new ad campaign would stir up controversy. Gossip Girl is a show aimed primarily at teenagers, and most parents would rather their teens not think about sex or what that “F” in OMFG stands for. There are some people out there who won’t be fond of the soft-core porn angle these ads are going for.

As a fan of the show myself, I think the campaign is fairly brilliant. It’s edgy, daring, scandalous, and even kind of hilarious. What do you think?

Is it too hot, or just hot enough? Also, it should be noted that the “F” in OMFG will only appear on posters in select locations. Ads present in more family friendly venues will feature the less offensive OMG.

“GOSSIP Girl” villain Ed Westwick has certainly become accustomed to late nights in New York. The British actor hit the Beatrice Inn Monday night, where he threw back whiskey shots and “flirted with every girl there.” “He was completely trashed and dancing with a group of girls that were all over him,” said our spy. He was also overheard talking music with DJ Reach, saying his band, the Filthy Youth, was better than most American ones. “He was yelling that all other bands were rubbish,” said our spy. Westwick stayed until closing time.

The fashionable people were out in full force at Radar Entertainment’s launch party for its new fashion division. Gossip Girl’s now single Ed Westwick, Marissa Tomei and Fabrizio Moretti all came out to watch Fabrizio’s bandmate, Albert Hammonds play for the crowd.

Uh oh, it’s another actor-turned-musician. Ed Westwick, who plays Gossip Girl smarm-master Chuck Bass, and his band the Filthy Youth played at New York City’s the Annex this past weekend. In the audience—fellow Gossip Girls Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford and Jessica Szohr, reports Rush & Molloy. Westwick lived up to his band’s name when later that night, after allegedly imbibing plenty of drinks onstage, stumbled outside and yelled, “I’m so f—ed up!” What a rebel soul!

Question: Out with it - who’s gay on your newest obsession, Gossip Girl?

Ausiello: My loose lips are sealed. Except to say that in the first two episodes back, the individual in question will come out, get a love interest and make out with said love interest — and not necessarily in that order.

Question: At Paley Fest, Blake Lively told you that sleeping with Nate isn’t the real reason Serena left. I know you know something.

Ausiello: I know that Michelle Trachtenberg holds the key to that little secret, and I wouldn’t think of spoiling it here. What I will spoil is the real reason Blake Lively bolted from the stage immediately after the Gossip Girl panel Saturday night — and it wasn’t to escape the gaggle of fans that swarmed the dais, as some in the media have speculated. Anyone who was standing within three feet of Lively as she raced out of the auditorium (i.e., me) could clearly hear her begging someone — anyone — to point her to the nearest bathroom because she had “to pee for the last hour!” Within seconds, a security guard jumped into action, escorted her to the loo and then back to the stage, where she joined the rest of the cast in signing autographs. Consider the record set straight.

The 20-year-old actor from Hertfordshire plays cocky character Chuck in the hit series.

And with film credits like 100 Feet already under his belt, this gorgeous guy’s set for stardom.

Oh, and he also sings in band The Filthy Youth. Talk about the whole package.
