Audi Hosts Star-Studded Event at the Audi Forum New York City to Kick-off the New York International Auto Show on March 19th

Tom Brady, Tyson Beckford, Will Arnett, Denise Rich and members of the “Gossip Girl” cast joined VIP guests to celebrate a Hunt Slonem-custom-painted A5 sports coupe and the Audi R8 TDI Le Mans concept

NEW YORK, March 20 /PRNewswire/ — Audi of America Inc. on March 19th hosted a gala event at the Audi Forum New York City to kick off the 2008 New York International Auto Show. Celebrity attendees included superstar athlete Tom Brady, actor Will Arnett, model Tyson Beckford, philanthropist and Grammy- nominated songwriter Denise Rich and “Gossip Girl’s” Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr.

Attendees gathered to view Audi’s show stopping R8 TDI Le Mans concept car, which made only its second U.S. appearance. The R8 TDI Le Mans features a variation on the Le Mans-winning Audi R10 diesel engine. The concept model’s twelve-cylinder clean diesel engine produces 500 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, while achieving a fuel-efficient 23 mpg.

Guests also saw the unveiling of an Audi A5 sports coupe, custom painted by Hunt Slonem, which Audi donated to Denise Rich’s G&P Foundation for Cancer Research. That car will be auctioned in October 2008. Prior to auction, the A5 will tour the country, including a stop at the American Film Institute at the Arclight in Los Angeles. Additionally, the car will be displayed at events created by Best Buddies International, another Audi-supported non-profit organization. Best Buddies is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships.

The event also featured catering by famed chef and restaurateur David Bouley and a performance by the Loston Harris Trio.

Caught in the Act!

• Chace Crawford, shopping for DVDs at a Best Buy in Manhattan with Gossip Girl costar (and real-life roommate) Ed Westwick. Giving each other advice about what to buy, the two browsed the DVD aisle, as Crawford carried a huge stack of movies including Little Miss Sunshine. Westwick picked out No Country For Old Men before the two made their purchases.

CELEB HISTORY BUFFS ENJOY ‘JOHN ADAMS’ PREMIERE

Ed struts through. “I love history,” the Gossip Girl guy says. “I think that’s where we learn from our mistakes. It’s important.” While American history isn’t his bag, this Brit keeps busy with English history. “We’ve got 2,000 years of it,” he yuks.

BIG Photo Update coming in a bit!!

Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick: Single and Ready to Mingle!

Like the Jody Watley song, Ed Westwick is ‘looking for a new love, baby.’

“I’m very single,” the Gossip Girl star, 20, admitted at the John Adams premiere held at MOMA in NYC on March 3.

When OK! caught up with Ed back in October, he was deeply involved in a relationship with Louise Shaw, who hailed from his hometown of Stevenage, England. He bragged about making her a full English breakfast complete with bacon, eggs, sausage and baked beans.

But now that his situaton has changed, what does this dashing Brit look for in a woman?

“Good sense of style and confidence,” he tells OK!. As for him, potential love interests should know he can’t get enough of the board game Monopoly and doesn’t dig McDonald’s.

“That food is so bad at McDonald’s,” Ed says. “It’s really not that great.”

So what else can his dates expect? “I’m a lounge guy. I love playing pool. I love finding someplace where it’s quiet enough that you can control the jukebox and get on with your life.”

Ed also loves to hang with his Gossip Girl castmates Chace Crawford and Penn Badgely, but he stays away from alcohol — “I’m underage, man!”

Because his character is a villain on the show, Ed says some people are wary of him. How does he prove them wrong? “I take everybody I meet out to dinner,” he jokes.

Nelson starts new rep company

Veteran entertainment transactional attorney Peter Nelson, who has negotiated landmark deals including Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and David Duchovny’s “X-Files” deal, has left the firm he founded in 1986 with Patty Felker and formed a new one with longtime law partner George Davis.

The Los Angeles-based Nelson Davis firm will continue repping writers, directors and actors. Joining the two attorneys will be Mark Wetzstein, who comes from Nelson’s former firm as well. Nelson brings with him key clients, including Jackson and Duchovny.

Davis’ clients include writer Julian Fellowes, director Tom Vaughan and actor Ed Westwick. Wetzstein’s clients include actor Ian McShane and “Jericho” creator Jonathan Steinberg.

US TV stars warm to Bondi’s nosh icon

THERE’S no denying the US writer’s strike has been bad for business but there were no complaints from the line-up of actors who spent part of their downtime dining at one of Sydney’s best nosheries this week.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles stars Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, Cold Case babe Kathryn Morris and Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles were among the throng snapped at Bondi Icebergs earlier this week.

Channel 9 exec Michael Healy, Ten bigwig David Mott and Foxtel’s Les Sampson also made their way to the iconic beachfront venue to meet the stars of their shows.

A bunch of journos from France, the UK, Argentina, Malaysia, the Philippines and Mexico also took up the Warner Bros junket.

Post-Strike Relaunch

I know I’m a bit late on this, but apparently GG won’t be back until April(?) Damn … that’s a long way from now! Well here’s the article, credit goes to Taylor Source!

With an end to the WGA strike on the horizon (fingers crossed!), networks are addressing the many questions they face in developing a strategy for their shows’ return to air.

First-year drama Gossip Girl aims to be back on the CW in late April, and could complete its 22-episode first season by running original hours through the summer.

Ah, let’s hope for that return … and a second season!!
